Preparing for SundaysFr. Eamonn Bredin will lead a group discussion on the Mass readings for the following Sunday in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on Thursday evenings from 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m..  All welcome. Cost: €5 per night.

 

The annual Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Abuse takes place on Friday 15th February 2019, just one week before the historic gathering in Rome hosted by Pope Francis on 21st -24th February Rome to discuss the safeguarding of minors in the Church. We ask for your prayers for all those who have been hurt by abuse in the Church. We pray for Pope Francis and for the success of the meeting in Rome at which senior bishops and religious superiors from around the world will be attending.

We invite you to join us for a liturgy to bless and dedicate a new ‘Candle of Atonement’ in the Cathedral of SS Patrick and Felim, Cavan. This Candle will be lit in our diocese as a reminder of the need for atonement and to symbolise repentance, light in the darkness and hope.”

Denn GFC. Golden Jubilee Celebrations

The main focus of the celebration will be around the August Bank Holiday Weekend when, amongst a host of other events, a Book chronicling the history of our club will be launched on Thursday 1st August with a drama depicting the characters of the club will be staged on Friday August 2nd. There will be many other events over the weekend – details will be released in coming weeks

 

The County finals of Scor which this year celebrates its 50th year will be hosted by Denn GFC in Drumavaddy Community Centre on Friday 1st  March. A great night of culture, dance and song in store.

 

Cavan County Museum invites you to an evening ‘Remembering Stanislaus Lynch, Poet, Journalist, Horseman, Gentleman and proud son of Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan’ on Thursday 21st February at 8 p.m. Speakers will include Professor Patrick Wall, Noel Mullins Photojournalist, Editor and Publisher, Paul Keogan, Ballymacad Hunt, and Michael Slavin, Broadcaster, Journalist and Author.
