In answer to Bishop Martin Hayes’s invitation to each Parish Council to put Synodality in Action this Advent, the Parish Council are holding a collection in Aid of SLEEP OUT CAVAN. 

This is a charity based in the grounds of St Patrick’s College, Cavan, who supply food and clothing to families in need.

Donations of non-perishable foods and clean clothing for men/women/children (especially coats, hats, gloves, scarves) can be dropped as follows:

Online Advent Retreat  featuring a series of online reflections given in preparation for Christmas. The Retreat Giver is Donagh O'Shea OP an Irish Dominican, currently director of the Dominican Retreat Centre in Tallaght. He has given retreats and taught courses on spirituality in many parts of the world. He has authored several books, including the forthcoming ;A Hundred Roads to here: Introductions to Meditation'. He is also a potter, and for forty years has been using clay-work to open up new paths to meditation: see his 'Go down the Potter’s House: a Journey into Meditation' (1988). The course consists of four recorded presentations that will become available over the four Sundays of Advent, so on the first Sunday there will be access to one recording and on the second Sunday access to two recordings and so on. Participants can watch the films whenever suits them, and revisit films they have already viewed.

 

An evening of prayer remembering our faithful departed and for our family and personal healing through the ministry of Fr John Walsh (Limerick) will take place in St Brigid's Church, Killygarry, Cavan on Monday November 21st. Confessions and prayers from 6 45pm with Holy Mass at 7. 30pm. Water, Salt and Oil will be blessed and the evening will conclude with the laying on of hands and Benediction"
