The Eight Amendment:
The 8th Amendment has
preserved and fostered a culture of life that we can be proud of. The resources
of modern medicine have been used very successfully to care for the lives of
women and unborn children. We know that thousands of childrens'
lives have been saved in Ireland by the 8th Amendment over the last
thirty years. The purpose of having Human Rights in our Constitution is to
protect a vulnerable minority from Majority Rule. That's why these rights are there.
To protect those who haven't got a voice or indeed a vote. What we are voting
for on Friday the 25th of May is whether we want unrestricted access to termination up to 12 weeks and in
many cases long after that. If we vote 'No'
mother and baby are equally protected. (Bishop
Leo).

Longing for light, we wait in darkness
Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for truth, we turn to you,
Longing for hope, many despair.
Make us your own, your holy people,
Your word alone has power to save us.
Light for the world to see, Make us your living voice.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light. Shine in
your church gathered today.
