Timothy:
Timothy was only 20 days married
when he was arrested and tortured. He had red hot iron rods forced into his
ears and then hung upside down with a wooden block put in his mouth. What was
he guilty off ? being a
reader at mass and the Roman Governor Arian, demanded the readings from him and
when he refused to hand over the readings, the wife Myra was arrested. She had
her hair torn from her head and had her fingers cut off and finally she was put
in a boiling cauldron. Finally they were both crucified facing one another in
suffering for ten days. They died in the 286 in Egypt. In light of such courage
perhaps we would take the effort to see the readings in advance and proclaim
the Word of God with conviction.
