Fr Martin Hayes

Bishop Elect of Kilmore

On Monday morning, 29 June 2020, the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Jude Thaddeus Okolo celebrated Mass for the feast of St Peter and Paul in the Cathedral of St Patrick & St Felim in Cavan. At the Mass Archbishop Okolo announced that Pope Francis had appointed Fr Martin Hayes, a priest of the archdiocese of Cashel and Emly, as Bishop-elect of the diocese of Kilmore. This is a happy day for the diocese of Kilmore because a successor to Bishop Leo O’Reilly has been appointed by the Vatican.

Please pray for Fr. Martin as he prepares for his Episcopal ordination later in the year.
