Denn Parish Pastoral Council will meet in Drumavaddy Church on Monday 17th February at 8.30pm.

 

Mission Awareness. Fr Tommy Faherty, SMA, (Society of African Missions), will speak at masses next weekend in our annual mission awareness programme.

 

Drumavaddy Social & Development Association is running a defibrillator training night in Drumavaddy Community Centre on Wednesday 19th February, at 7.30pm. This is a CPR/AED certified Course. Cost per person is €40. Anyone interested in attending this course should contact 086 3781894, as we need to know numbers for the course.

 

Fr. Eamonn Bredin will facilitate a course on “St. Paul - His Life and Work” in the Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Cullies, Cavan, on Thursday evenings from 7:30p.m. to 9:30p.m. up until Thursday 16 April 2020. All welcome.  Refreshments will be served each evening.  Suggested donation: €5 per night. 

Please support: The Crosskeys NS Parent's Association will host a St Valentines Day Pub Quiz on Friday 14th February at 8.30pm in The Tank, table of 4/€40.  All proceeds will go towards the upgrade of the school playground. Pilgrimage Fundraiser. Fifteen TransitionYear Students from St Clare’s College, Ballyjamesduff have been chosen to represent the Kilmore Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes this year. Two of the students are Aoibhe Conaty and Emma Brady from Denn parish. As part of their fundraiser they are climbing “the stairway to Heaven” Cuilcagh Climb. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

 

Denn Running Club kicked off Operation Transformation with a large crowd in attendance. This will continue until March 1st. So, come along and join us every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7pm as we get fit for 2020

 

Ballyjamesduff Cancer Support Fund will hold their Annual General Meeting in St. Teresa's Centre (Preschool/Scouts) on the Oldcastle Rd on Tuesday 11th February 2020 @ 8.30pm.  Everyone welcome

 

Breifne Historical Society hosts the Bishop MacKiernan memorial lecture on Tuesday 11 February in Cavan Library at 7 pm by Professor John McCafferty (UCD), entitled 'Insults, marriages and wills. Ordinary people in an Irish church court of the 1520’s.

 

 

 

         


CAVAN  BRANCH  SERVICES

FORGET-ME-NOT CAFÉ is held on the last Wednesday of every month in the Castlemanor Community Centre from 11am -12.30pm.  All welcome.

 

SUPPORT GROUP meets on the first Thursday of every month except July and August in the Bridge Street Centre, Cavan at 8pm. Anyone dealing with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s is welcome to come along for tea and a chat.

 

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY GARDEN SINGERS is held in the HSE Building in grounds of John Sullivan Centre Nursing Home on the first Sunday of every month from 11am till noon. This is for people with dementia and their families/Carers, people who live alone or those who just like to sing.
